The following Standard Terms and Conditions apply to all contracts entered into with Hotel Alpenruhe AG. Any other arrangements not compliant with these Standard Terms and Conditions require an agreement signed by all parties.
Reservations and Confirmations
Reservations are guaranteed only upon receipt of a confirmation of reservation countersigned by intending guests or upon receipt by phone, email or letter of their full credit card details.
Unless other arrival and departure times are agreed, reserved rooms are available to guests from 14:30 on the day of arrival, and are to be vacated by 10:30 on the day of departure.
Refunds for booked services are not issued if guests leave early.
Cancellations free of charge are permitted up to 7 days before arrival.
Cancellations made between 7 and 4 days before arrival are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the services booked; thereafter a cancellation fee of 100% applies.
(Longer cancellation periods during Christmas vacations and sports vacations in February).
You are advised to take out insurance to cover costs arising from cancellation.
Terms of Payment
The hotel accepts the following methods of payment: cash (only CHF and EUR), Maestro, V Pay, VISA, Master Card, Diners Club and American Express. Cheques are not accepted.
Foreign currency cannot be exchanged in the hotel.
By prior written agreement only, invoices for hotel services can be issued for sums in excess of CHF 2,000; such invoices are payable without deductions within 10 days of receipt.
International guests and tour parties agree to settle their bills no later than the day of their departure.
When guests intend to stay for more than 4 nights, the hotel may request advance payment of 50% of total costs, payable by credit card or bank transfer.
Offers are valid for 30 days after date of issue; thereafter hotel tariffs may be subject to change without advance notice.
All our restaurant prices are net rates and include VAT and taxes. Tourist taxes applicable to overnight stays in the hotel are invoiced separately.
A group is a party of guests that requires at least 5 rooms. Group rates are offered only after consultation with the hotel. Unless otherwise agreed, standard tariffs apply during the high season.
The hotel’s group administrator accepts reservations on behalf of groups. Individual members of a group may not book with the hotel themselves. If a separate booking is required, normal room rates apply.
At least 48 hours before the arrival of a group, the hotel requires confirmation of the names of group members and of how rooms are to be allocated; these details form the basis for the invoice issued. If the number in any group increases, costs will be calculated on the basis of the new number of participants.
The following cancellation terms apply to groups: cancellations free of charge are permitted up to 30 days before arrival; cancellations between 30 and 15 days before arrival are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the services booked; thereafter a cancellation fee of 100% applies, and is invoiced to the group organizer.
If weather conditions prevent guests from travelling to the hotel from Lauterbrunnen, the above-mentioned obligations are waived, and no fees are charged for services booked. If it appears possible that travel to the hotel cannot be guaranteed, intending guests will be informed by telephone 24 hours in advance. If intending guests cannot be reached and still make their way to the hotel, they may not claim compensation. If the safe departure of guests cannot be guaranteed, they must expect to extend the duration of their stay at the hotel. The resulting accommodation costs are borne by Hotel Alpenruhe AG. Guests are responsible for the cost of all food and beverages consumed.
Depending on weather conditions during their stay in wintertime, and while travelling to and departing from the hotel, guests are advised to have sturdy footwear with them.

Neither the publication nor its content may be modified in any way or distributed or relayed to third parties without the prior express permission of Hotel Alpenruhe AG.
Hotel Alpenruhe AG assumes no liability for items left by guests outside their locked hotel rooms. For items deposited in locked hotel rooms, liability provisions in accordance with Articles 487 and 489 OR and for valuables in accordance with Articles 488 and 489 OR apply.
Place of Jurisdiction
Contracts and business relations entered into with Hotel Alpenruhe AG are subject to Swiss Law. The venue for the settlement of any disputes is Interlaken.
