General Terms and Conditions (GTC)
These General Terms and Conditions apply to all contracts concluded with Hotel Alpenruhe AG. Any agreements deviating from the GTC must be in writing and signed by all parties involved.
Reservation and confirmation
Each reservation is only guaranteed after receipt of the complete credit card details by telephone, e-mail or self-service portal.
Reserved hotel rooms are available to the guest from 2.30 p.m. on the day of arrival and until 11.00 a.m. on the day of departure, unless other times have been agreed.
There is no entitlement to a refund in the event of early departure.
Cancellation is free of charge up to 7 days before arrival.
From 7 days to 3 days prior to arrival, the guest will be charged 50% of the booked hotel services, thereafter 100% of the booked services.
For the periods 24 December to 5 January and 10 February to 10 March the following cancellation conditions apply:
Cancellation free of charge up to 21 days before arrival.
From 21 days to 7 days prior to arrival, the guest will be charged 50% of the booked hotel services, thereafter 100% of the booked services.
We recommend that you take out cancellation insurance.
If a guest is unable to arrive because it is not possible to leave his or her country or to enter Switzerland or the Canton of Berne due to a travel restriction, and if this has made it objectively impossible for the guest to arrive, a free cancellation is possible.
However, a guest cannot claim a free cancellation if he/she has to go into quarantine on arrival in Switzerland or on return to his/her home country because he/she is afraid of catching an infection or because he/she is ill.
Terms of payment
The following means of payment are accepted: Cash (CHF & EUR only), Maestro, V Pay, VISA, Mastercard, PostFinance Card, JCB, Diners Club, American Express and TWINT. Cheques are not accepted.
No foreign currencies are exchanged at the hotel.
If agreed in writing in advance, an invoice may be sent for services purchased for a total amount of CHF 2,000.00 or more, payable within 10 days of receipt without any deductions.
In the case of foreign guests and travel groups, the services received must be paid for at the latest on departure.
For stays of four nights or more, a deposit of 50% of the total cost may be required by credit card or bank transfer.
The offers are valid as long as the offered rooms are available, but not longer than seven days. After this period, prices may be subject to change without notice.
All our restaurant prices are in Swiss Francs (CHF) including VAT, service and taxes. For hotel accommodation, visitor’s tax is charged separately.
A group is defined as a company requiring at least five rooms. Group rates are only valid after consultation with the hotel. During the high season, the normal standard prices apply unless otherwise agreed.
Reservations are accepted by the travel group organiser. It is not possible for group participants to book directly with the hotel. If an individual booking is requested, the normal room rates will be charged.
The desired room allocation and list of participants for a travel group must be confirmed at least 48 hours before arrival and serves as the basis for invoicing. In the event of an upward deviation, the new number of participants shall serve as the basis for calculation.
The following cancellation conditions apply to groups: Cancellation free of charge up to 30 days before arrival. From 30 days to 15 days before arrival, 50% of the total costs will be charged. Thereafter, the organiser will be charged 100% of the booked hotel services.
Arrival and departure
Should the arrival from Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald not be possible due to weather or railway reasons, each guest is released from the aforementioned obligations. No booked services will be charged. If the journey from Lauterbrunnen to Wengen cannot be guaranteed, the guest will be informed immediately by telephone, if possible due to events. If the guest cannot be reached and still arrives, there is no claim for compensation. If, for safety reasons, a safe departure from Wengen cannot be guaranteed, an extended stay must be expected. The costs incurred for accommodation are borne by Hotel Alpenruhe AG. Costs arising from any consumption shall be borne by the guest.
For the arrival and departure as well as during the stay, good footwear is recommended, depending on the weather and snow conditions in winter.

Hotel Alpenruhe AG is not liable for objects deposited by the guest outside his locked hotel room. For items deposited in the locked hotel room, the liability provisions according to the Swiss Code of Obligations Art. 487 and 489 or Art. 488 and 489 for valuables apply.
Place of jurisdiction
The contracts concluded and business relations entered into with Hotel Alpenruhe AG are subject to Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction for all disputes is Interlaken.
